Cassiah is an award-winning writer for both her work on stage and screen. She has had her work staged at the New Diorama Theatre, Greenwich Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 

In 2016, Cassiah's debut play 'Under My Thumb 'was a finalist in the Red Women Theatre Awards, and was then nominated for Best New Play at the New South Writing Awards in 2017. Workshops of Cassiah's newest play 'London With A Perfect Skyline' previewed at Katzpace, London Bridge in 2019. Recently, 'London With A Perfect Skyline' made the top 20% in the Royal Court Theatre literary submissions window 2023.

 

Cassiah most recently wrote a new play 'MENTAL' as part of an R&D with Culture Clash Theatre, commissioned by Arts Council Funding. The project was supported by Greenwich Theatre, Cambridge Junction, Battersea Arts Centre, and Tara Arts.

 

Cassiah was also a BBC New Creative, commissioned for her first audio drama in 2020 which broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra in July 2021. She also came in the top 2% in the BBC Script Room Drama 2021 (and came in the top 3.5% in 2018) and her feature spec For My Mother was a Finalist in the West Field Screenwriting Awards 2018.  She recently finished a feature script commission for Altter Films.
